2022, 16 years after first watching SGA, and I've just begun my very first re-watch if the series.
Yes, I did just have to pause to count that in my head, and yes, I am somewhat perturbed that it has been seventeen, SEVENTEEN years since 2005. Wot.
I'm just coming up to the Season 1 finale and having a roaring good time. It's gas, simply hearing the theme music has been a welcome reality-salve, a transportation to a very fun time in my fannish life and a reminder of how warm, creative and amazing fandom can be.
I've also been rooting out a few mcshep fics (and podfics!) from back then - sadly it seems like many are no longer on LJ, and of course my copious del.icio.us links are well dead - but I have found a few that were in my regular bookmarks that are on A03 still. And the AUs! Oh, the glorious AUs.
Sadly, Mr. Ashandalder could not be convinced that he should in fact be very excited at the prospect of watching some prime 00s Scifi along with me and has not joined me in this re-watch. Someday my powers of persuasion might reach the heights needed, that or I'll need to put together an abridged and curated list of episodes for him to get hooked. Until then I will roam the dusty halls of fandom past squee on my tod, and see what's happening on Tumblr.
